News: Vincent Price and The Horror of The English Blood Beast

Fans of the golden age of British horror movies should definitely tune into BBC Radio 4 this Saturday (6th March) at 2.30pm for a dramatization of the making of Michael Reeves' classic Witchfinder General, which goes by the frankly awesome title ' Vincent Price And The Horror Of The English Blood Beast'.

Price put in one of his greatest performances as the Witchfinder General, Matthew Hopkins, who was appointed to root out witchcraft during the Civil War, and the movie turned out to be by far the best made by the Tigon company.

However, the relationship between the Price and Reeves was distinctly unfriendly during production, and it is this tension that this hour-long play, written by Matthew Broughton, will explore.

Don't worry if you're not near a radio on Saturday afternoon as I'm sure this will pop up on BBC iPlayer for a week or so afterwards for you to listen to at your leisure.
